Understanding Green Beauty

Our skin is the largest organ of the human body. From your face to the bottoms of your feet, our skin takes up approximately 20% of our actual body weight. Skin is also responsible for regulating body temperature and regulating body fluids. With our skin having so much influence, it can be harmful to apply the wrong elements to its surface.

Did you know the average woman applies over 200 harmful chemicals from beauty products to her skin in just one day?

Approximately 90% of what is applied to our skin is absorbed into the bloodstream and then filtered through the kidneys and liver. Over time these toxins build up in our bodies and can have detrimental effects on our health and well being. The easiest way to research your skin care products is to simply read the ingredients label. At Organical Botanical, we are so proud of our ingredients, we list them right on front of the product packaging.

It is not uncommon to find product labels that read “organic”, “natural” or “hypoallergenic” attached to your favorite products. Unfortunately, when you buy green skin care products it is hard to tell whether the word “organic” is a genuine claim. Green claims sound reassuring and  packaging may look convincing, but the truth is that all to often they have little, if any meaning. More often than not minuscule amounts of organic ingredients and the rest of the bottle filled with harsh preservatives and synthetic chemicals. This happens because organic labeling in the United States is pretty much in disarray.

Sadly, no matter what a company claims or how green their packaging looks, ALWAYS read the ingredient list, it only takes a minute.

Organical Botanical not only provides people with a safe alternative to chemical filled products, but also helps consumers understand the importance of reading product labels. It is not only beneficial to our health but the planet as well. So the next time your shopping for personal care products flip over the bottle and read what is really going into your body (potentially).
